Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a dot diameter controlling system capable of correctly controlling the diameter of dots by means of such an arrangement wherein dot patterns corresponding to data representing a specified density are formed on a recording material and their image density is detected and compared with the specified density. CONSTITUTION:The density of a dot pattern recorded at position A is illuminated by a light source 55 at position B and read-out by a photoelectric element 61 and a signal 67 amplified by an amplifier 65 is A/D converted by No.2 read-out signal, READ2 supplied from a CPU11. The digital data signal of the converted result, SAD, is sent through No.4 bus line to and stored in the CPU11 as density data. The difference between the measured density data stored in the CPU and a known density value is calculated by a comparator in the CPU11 and a control signal representing the difference, CONT, is supplied to a voltage controller 9 through No.5 bus line.
