Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve separation efficiency and to increase permeating amount of the component A of the mixed liquid consisting of two components A, B, in a membrane separation method by adding a salt to said mixed liquid, by selecting one easily soluble in the component B as the salt to be added.
CONSTITUTION: The salt meant in this invention is selected from an inorg. salt, an org. salt or a high molecular compound soluble in a liquid mixture and used in a concn. of a range of about 0.1W10wt%. As a separation membrane separating the salt, a membrane having a ≥1 coefficient of separation αA/B is used. Said separation membrane 1 can be appropriately selected according to components of a mixed liquid and a permeate, and the mixed liquid consists of two kinds or more of substances with different solubility parameters such as an azeotropic mixture or a mixture comprising components having contiguous boiling points. When separation can not be carried out sufficiently by one operation, plural times of operations are repeated. A separation apparatus is divided into a mixed liquid chamber 2 and an exhaust gas chamber 3 by the separation membrane 1 and the mixed liquid to be separated is introduced from an inlet port 5 and taken out from an outlet 4 and the exhaust gas chamber 3 is evacuated or other fluid is recirculated therethrough.
