Abstract

PURPOSE: To subject the whole sludge to uniform aerobic fermentation by repeatedly executing a method of granulating sludge, causing aerobic fermentation in a reacting vessel, grinding the same, again granulating the same and subjecting the granules to fermentation treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Dried compost powder 2 is added to sludge 1 produced by treating sewage, poultry dung, industrial waste water, etc. and these are mixed in a mixer 3. The mixture is granulated by an extrusion granulating machine 4 of a piston type, a screw type or the like or a granulating machine 4 of a system of compressing the same between two revolving rolls. The granulated particles are charged into a reaction vessel 6, where aerobic fermentaton is caused to take place, after which an unloader 7 in the bottom of the vessel 6 is operated to feed the grains to a converyor 5. By the conveyor 5, the granules are charged into a grinding mill 8, whereby they are ground. The ground sludge is returned to the machine 4 and is granulated by this. Again the granules are subjected to aerobic fermentation in the tank 6. In this way, the granulation and the fermentation are repeated suitable times according to need.
