Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain excellent images without density unevenness in spite of the abrasion of platen roller by biasing the central position of the heating element of the thermal head of a heat-sensitive recorder from the pressing center of the platen roller to the opposite side of the advancing direction of a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 2 in contact with a platen roller 1 through a heat-sensitive recording paper 3 is provided at a place where the center line 4 of its heating element 2a is biased by a distance (d) to the opposite side of the advancing direction of the heat-sensitive recording paper in relation to the pressing center of the platen roller 1. By adjusting the value of (d) according to the material, diameter, and pressing force of the platen roller 1 and also to the width of the heating element 2a, excellent recorded images without density unevenness can be obtained regardless of the deformation of the platen roller 1 during the recording operation.
