Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent seizure of members of a vane type compressor which are held in contact with each other and to reduce the weight of the compressor, by constituting vanes and both side blocks with an iron metal and a rotor and a cylinder with an aluminum metal, and applying a liner of an iron metal over the inner surface of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Since, according to the present invention, a rotor 1 and a cylinder 6 are both made of an aluminum metal, their weight can be reduced as compared with conventional ones. Further, since vanes 4, a liner 8 applied over the inner surface of the cylinder 6, and both side blocks 7a, 7b are made of an iron metal, unsatisfactory engagement and seizure of members that are held in contact with each other can be prevented effectively by feeding lubricating oil. Since the rotor 1 and cylinder 6 are made of the same aluminum metal and therefore their coefficients of expansion are equal to each other, the clearance between them can be kept at a proper value. Further, since the liner 8 having a slit 12 is expanded to follow up thermal expansion of the cylinder 6, the clearance between the rotor 1 and liner 8 at their contact portion can be maintained at a proper value.
