Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a compressor having a high volumetric efficiency and high durability for a construction wherein a piston is made of a metal group having somewhat identical thermal expansion as a cylinder, and the external circumference of the piston being coated with a specified thickness of fluorine resin film.
CONSTITUTION: A compressor provided with a piston 2 within a cylinder bore 1 is comprising a cylinder block 3 defining the cylinder bore 1 and the piston 2 made of a metal group having somewhat an identical thermal expansion. The external circumference of the piston 2 is coated with a film 4 thickness of 20W100μ or ethylene fluoride such as a ethylene tetrafluoride or fluorine resin composing copolymer of ethylene fluoride and vinyl compound. This enables to reduce a side clearance as well as to improve the volumetric efficiency of a compressor, preventing from generating the noise caused by the impingement between the piston and the cylinder and improving the durability.
