Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to operate a space-cooling apparatus efficiently in the manner that the efficiency of operation of a Rankine-cycle engine is not influenced by variation in the amount of heat accumulated in a collector, by constituting the titled apparatus by a heat collecting circuit, a Rankine-cycle engine, a cooling cycle, a temperature sensor, and an auxiliary motor. CONSTITUTION:Temperature of heating miduum at the outlet of a collector is detected by a temperature sensor 14. When the temperature difference of the above temperature of heating medium to the temperature of cooling water in a condenser 6 detected by another temperature sensor 15 becomes grater than a prescribed value, a control circuit 19 produces an operation signal to a heating-medium circulating pump 3. The control circuit 19 keeps the temperature of heating medium at the outlet of the collector at a set temperature by increasing the speed of a liquid pump 17 with increase of the amount of collected heat and increasing the amount of heat supplied to a Rankine cycle. When the amount of collected heat is increased further and the speed of the liquid pump 7 becomes higher than a prescribed value, the control circuit 19 produces a coupling signal to a transmission means 18 for transmitting the output of the Rankine-cycle engine to a compressor 10. In this state, the Rankine-cycle engine is operated under load.
