Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the methane contents in digesting gases efficiently, providing an anaerobic digesting tank which treats org. sludge and org. waste liquid contained therein, a separator for carbon dioxide from the digesting tank and a digesting gas storage tank.
CONSTITUTION: A separator 4 for carbon dioxide is connected to the middle part of a piping 3 conducting a digesting gas from an anaerobic digesting tank 1 to a storage tank 2, and the carbon dioxide in the digesting gas is removed with this separator 4 and is stored in the tank 2. An adsorption tower packed with natural or synthetic carbon dioxide adsorbents, for example, natural zeolite, silica gel, or the like or an absorption tower wherein the digesting gas is brought into contact with alkali liquid is used for the separator 4. Since the carbon dioxide in the digesting gas can be removed by the above-mentioned separator for carbon dioxide, the carbon dioxide which is usually contained at about 40% in the digesting gas is virtually eliminated, and the purity of the gaseous methane in the digesting gas is exceedingly increased.
