Abstract

PURPOSE:To dispense with a large-sized heat exchanger and to control heat loss by a method wherein the variation of load on the titled device is detected directly by the detection of the quantity of hot water used. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of instantaneous water heaters 10a to 10c are provided and hot water pipes 32a to 32c leading to the heaters 10a to 10c are joined together to communicate with a hot water storage tank 20. At the same time, water pressure responsive gas valves each comprising a venturi 13, a diaphragm 14 and a responsive valve 15 are attached to water supply pipes 31a to 31c, respectively, and electromagnetic valves 12a to 12c are provided on the upstream side of the water pressure responsive valves. Further, a level switch 21 is provided within the hot water storage tank 20 so as to detect the levels L1 to L5 of the hot water in the tank 20 and the electromagnetic valves 12a to 12c are opened and closed one by one in proportion to the levels L1 to L5 of the hot water in the tank 20.
