Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the process of scttaching a safety device for earthquake to both newly provided or already installed facilities, by enabling a large emergency stop valve to operate owing to change-over operation of vibration operative change-over valve during an earthquake. CONSTITUTION:Compressed air is supplied from a compressor 10 to an air tank 8 through a check valve constantly until the inner pressure of the tank 8 rises to the specified level and then supplied to a ball valve 3 from the air tank 8 through a solenoid valve 11 and a vibration operative change-over valve 12. When a vibration stronger than the specified magnitude occurs during the ball valve 3 is at its open condition after compressed air is supplied to an operative cylinder 3a, the vibration operative change-over valve 12 is changed over to the position as shown by dotted lines and compressed air supplied in the right side of a piston 14 is discharged. Consequently, the ball valve 16 rotates due to a return spring 13 and a ball valve 3 of an emergency stop valve can be automatically closed.
