Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable adoption of a small-sized compressor, by a method wherein, in a device which is connected to an air braking device for the rolling stocks and is suitable for drying of compressed air from an air source, it is allowed to operate in a two-cycle between an air compressor and a regenerative air reservoir. CONSTITUTION:In an air braking device, when pressure of a main reservoir (not shown) falls to the lowest set pressure of a pressure governor 1, a compressor is driven through the operation of the pressure governor 1, and compressed air is fed into a dehumidifying device 2 through a path 2. An electromagnetic valve 4 of the dehumidifying device 2 is then turned off by a relay 3, and a valve bar 5 is placed in an exhaust position as shown in a drawing. An upper surface of an upper bellowframe of a drain valve 6 is brought into a nonpressure state, and a valve 6A is closed. Thus, compressed air is dried after passing through an element 11 and a check valve 12, and is fed to a regenerative air reservoir and a relay chamber 17 for storing therein. Afterwards, with the compressor stopped running resulting from the rise in the pressure in the main reservoir, a valve 4 turns on, and compressed air in the chamber 17 flows into a chamber 16.
