Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid using a check valve or the like at an outlet port of the dehumidifier and reduce the number of component parts of the system in general by a method wherein the check valve, a control valve and a restricted passage are provided in the regeneration controller used for a vehicle or the like, and the flow of compressed air is controlled.
CONSTITUTION: When the pressure in a pressure chamber 24 of the regeneration controller 8 is raised to a predetermined pressure as a result of a gradual increase of the pressure on the side of a reservoir tank 9 by driving a compressor 1, a pressure is exerted on a piston 21 to move it against a preloading spring 25, so that the control valve 44 is opened and both connecting ports 31, 32 are communicated with each other by the restricted passage 39. When compressed air is supplied to an exhaust valve 17, the compressor 1 is unloaded and simultaneously the exhaust valve 17 is opened to communicate the interior of the dehumidifier 2 with the atmosphere. Thereafter, a pressure reduction in the interior of the dehumidifier 2 causes the dried compressed air in a pipe 6 to flow backwards into the dehumidifier 2. The compressed air dehydrates a drying agent, thereby regenerating the dehumidifying capability of the agent.
