Abstract

PURPOSE:To insulate the heat of an ingot under gas cutting by providing a lower heat insulating cover on conveying rollers after a continuous casting device, placing a gas cutter which pulls the cover forward and backward freely movably forward and backward to the upper side of said cover, and starting gas cutting from the final end of the cover. CONSTITUTION:A strand 6 produced continuously from a continuous casting device is cut by gas successively, to produce ingots 7 of a prescribed size. A lower heat insulating cover R of the length adding overlapped surplus length to the gas cutting stroke is provided on coveying rollers 9 after the machine end 8 of the continuous casting device.
