CONSTITUTION:On a platelike substrate (for instance, a PLZT substrate) 1 having electric and optical effects, plural electrodes 11, 12,- are arrayed at a constant pitch. On both sides of this substrate 1, polarization plates 3, 4 are placed so that the planes of polarization are at right angles to each other. When voltage of positive or negative is selectively applied to each electrode 11, 12,- by a driving circuit 5 and an incident luminous flux is provided, it is possible to obtain a space lattice whose lattice interval of bright and dark periods is selectively varied.
