Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the thrust measuring accuracy with a less friction resistance by floating the sliding part between a stationary frame and an oscillative frame by a fluid pressure such as air pressure. CONSTITUTION:After a jet engine 4 is mounted on an adaptor 3, compressed air is supplied into a disc-shaped groove provided on the bottom of four floating boxes 18, 22, 26 and 31 to float a oscillative frame 2. Under such a condition, when the jet engine 4 is started, a thrust is generated to the right and transmitted to measuring devices 12 and 28 through the oscillative frame 2 to measure the magnitude thereof. The oscillative frame 2 floats with floating boxes 18, 22, 26 and 31 mounted on the undersurface thereof. This keeps the weight of the oscillative frame 2 from application on a bearing 32 and a rail 33 thereby allowing the measurement of smallest thrust with the measuring devices 12 and 28. This can improve the thrust measuring accuracy.
