Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the effeciency of a gas turbine, by providing a seal ring between the casing and moving vane of the turbine so that the seal ring can be moved in the axial direction of the rotor of the turbine to optionally adjust the clearance between the tip of the moving vane and a static member. CONSTITUTION:A protrustion 6, which extends outward in the radial direction of a turbine, is provided on the upstream end of a shroud 5 provided on the tip of the moving vane 4 inserted in the wheel. A seal ring 7, which has a labyrinth 8 and consists of several segments juxtaposed in the circumferential direction, is provided upstream to the protrusion 6. Guide bars 9 are attached to the segments of the seal ring 7 and slidably inserted in the guide grooves 11 of a vane ring 2. Racks 10 are provided on the guide bars 9 opposite the guide grooves 11 and engaged with pinions 13 mounted on the lower ends of drive rods 12. Drive racks 17 engaged with other pinions 13 on the upper ends of the drive rods 12 can be operated to rotate the driven rods to adjust the clearance between the seal ring 7 and the protrusion 6.
