Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve stability of dyes with time, by adding an inorg. or org. oxidizing agent to a dye and adjusting the pH within a specified range.
CONSTITUTION: The pH of a dye such as a disperse dye, an acid dye or a direct dye, or a pigment is adjusted to 7W11 with sodium carbonate. 0.0001W2wt.% inorg. oxidizing agent or 0.1W5wt% org. oxidizing agent is added to the dye to produce the desired dye compsn. Examples of said inorg. oxidizing agents are sodium nitrite, sodium chlorate and ammonium persulfate. Examples of said org. oxidizing agents are sodium m-nitrobenzene-sulfonate and triethanolamine salt of m-nitrobenzene-sulfonic acid. The effect of the added oxidizing agent is maintained over a long period of time, and the decomposition of the dye with time is inhibited. Thus, there can be obtd. a dye compsn. which can be stably stored over a long period of time and is suitable for use as exportable goods.
