Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform favorable fixing of an air-tight terminal when a lead is to be fixed in an outside metal ring making a sintered glass tablet to lie between them by a method wherein a weight is pressed against a part of the glass tablet to heat and to melt the tablet. CONSTITUTION:The sintered glass tablet 20, the pipe lead 3 penetrating the center hole of the tablet are inserted and arranged in the outside metal ring 1 arranged in the concave part 4 of a jig 8. The weight 10 is put on the glass tablet 20 thereof, and the tablet is heated. The weight thereof has the shape to press the tablet 20 only by the circumferential part 11 of the lower end, and prevents the tablet to form a sphere by surface tension when the tablet is melted, and the outside metal ring 1 and the pipe lead 3 are sealed surely after glass is cooled. Accordingly lifting up and depression of glass is prevented, and the air-tight terminal for semiconductor rectifier is favorably sealed.
