Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a contactless igniter with a single magneto to perform ignitions for the low, medium and high speed ranges, by comparing a reference voltage produced by the magneto, with a rotational frequency detection voltage to determine the time of the ignition. CONSTITUTION:To perform spark advancement in the medium speed range, a positive and a negative voltages (a), (b) are produced once each by one rotation of a signal electricity generator 9. With the application of the voltage (b), a capacitor 13 is charged, a transistor 12 is turned on and another capacitor 13 is charged, a transistor 12 is turned on and another capacitor 14 is short-circuited. When the voltage (b) has become 0V, the transistor 12 is turned off, the capacit or 14 is charged with the electricity of the other capacitor 13 and the voltage on a point B rises. After that, capacitors 15, 16 are charged by the voltage (a), a transistor 10 is turned on by the electricity of the capacitor 16 to start discharging the capacitor 14 and the voltage on the point B falls. When the voltage on the point B has become lower than that A of the capacitor 15, a transistor 11 is turned on and the electricity of the transistor 15 is applied to the gate of a thyristor 4 through the transistor 11. Also in the high speed range after the spark advancement and in the low speed range before the spark advancement, the voltages (a), (b) are used to determine the time of ignition.
