Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve mixing of both ion exchange resins and to improve the performance of a desalting device by providing a vent pipe opened at both ends in a mixing tower, and supplying air into this vent pipe. CONSTITUTION:In a mixing tower 1 which agitates and mixes an anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin by air of upward stream in liquid, a vent pipe 31 opened at both ends is provided in the tower 1 in such a way that at least one end thereof is under the liquid level of the mixed liquids, and the upward air stream which forces the mixed liquids upward and overflows the same from the top end of the pipe 31 is formed in said pipe. Then, both exchange resins are thoroughly mixed and both resins can be uniformly packed in a desalting device; therefore the performance of the desalting device is improved.
