Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase efficiency of denitrification by supplying exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxide discharged from a combustion device to a CO gas genrator and generating gasifying reaction by the exhaust gas and C.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas containing NOX sent through an exhaust gas supply tube 5 is preheated by passing of high temperature generated gas from an outlet port 3 of a CO gas generating furnace 1 to a heat exchanger 6 through a genrated gas discharge tube 7, and supplied to a furnace 1. Since gasifying reaction is generated by burning coal (a) using preheated exhaust gas containing NOX, CO2 is generated and gasifying reaction is made again with the coal. Thus, reducing atmosphere is generated and temperature is raised by exothermic reaction. Since NOX is decomposed by reaction of CO gas of reducing atmosphere with NOX, denitrification of NOX in the exhaust gas is effected efficiently.
