Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a film with desirably patterned and different colors excellent in resistance to weather in simple stepes, by electrolitically coloring an Al material, which has been treated to have an anodized film, twice using baths containing compositions, and applying a protective coating thereon.
CONSTITUTION: An Al (alloy) material is previously treated to have an anodized film. Then the material is subjected to primary electrolitical coloring treatment using a usual electrolyte containing metal salts so that the surfaces thereof are uniformly colored throughout. The coated surfaces are then applied or printed with an electrically insulating clear resin to be masked to have a desired pattern, are introduced into a coloring electrolyte containing a composition different from that of the primary coloring electrolyte, and are treated by secondary electrolytic coloring to obtain a film with patterned and two colors that are partly and desirably overlapped. After dried, the same clear resin as used in the masking or a paint good in adhesion to the masking is applied as a protective coat.
