Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an alloy showing invariable elasticity at a high temperature, by heat-treating an alloy with a Ni-Cr-Fe base that has a specific composition under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: An elinver type alloy for a high temperature which contains 45W 70wt% Ni, 0.01W15wt% Cr and the remainder of Fe as main components and further contains, if necessary, 0.01W30wt% total amount of at least one elements of 15wt% or less one element of Co, Mo and W, 10wt% or less one element of Cu, V and Nb, 5wt% or less on element of Mn, Zr, Ti, Al, Si and Sn, 3wt% or less Be, and 1% or less one element of B, Pb, P, C, S and Ca and which has a temperature coefficient of Young's modulus (or shear modulus) at a high temperature, (in particular, of about 150°C or higher) of -10×10-5W+10×10-5. The above-mentioned composition is solution-treated by heating at 600°CW its melting point for 1minW100hr and then it is cooled at an arbitary rate. Subsequently it is cold processed and further it is heated at the above-mentioned temperature for the above-mentioned time. After that, it is slowly cooled at a rate of 1°C/sec or less to provide the objective alloy.
