Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform satisfactory developing by performing developing in a repulsive magnetic field by the use of a developer consisting of small size magnetic carriers of 5-30mu and toner particles and a developing roll which rotates a sleeve with internal magnets fixed therein. CONSTITUTION:A developing roll 13 mounted with a pair of magnets 12, 12 with their polarities faced in the same direction is provided in a rotary sleeve 11 in opposition to a latent image holding and recording body 10. The developer used is a two component developer of a small size carrier of 5-30mu average grain sizes and a toner. This constitution widens the contact width of earing and the body 10 on account of the repulsive magnetic field by a pair of the magnets 12. Since the small size carrier weakens the coupling between particles, the developer density is rough and the movement of the toner particles in a circumferential direction is less blocked by the carrier; hence, the toner sufficiently sticks on the body 10. Since the circumferential movement force of the carrier is strong, the sticking on the peripheral parts of the image is less and good developing is accomplished.
