Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled copolymer giving a molded article free from fish-eye, continuously, by copolymerizing propylene and ethylene in the presence of a Ti-organic Al catalyst adding fresh organic Al compound at the latter stage of copolymerization.
CONSTITUTION: The objective copolymer is prepared by (1) polymerizing propylene (P) or propylene and ethylene (E) in the presence of a catalyst system composed mainly of a Ti-containing solid catalyst component (e.g. TiCl3) and an organic Al compound of formulaI(R1 is 1W20C hydrocarbon group; 3≥m >1.5)[e.g. (n-C3H7)2AlCl] keeping the P concentration in the vapor phase at ≥90mol% to obtain a P-E copolymer, and (2) adding an Al compound of formula II (R2 is 1W20C hydrocarbon group; X is halogen; 1.5≥n≥0) (e.g. C2H5 AlCl2) to the system and carrying out the copolymerization of P and E keeping the P concentration in the vapor phase at < 90mol%.
