Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform double faced mold of high hardness without the increase in equipment cost by moving an upper metal mold placed on the resin sand built up on a lower metal mold disposed with a circumferential flask downward until its circumference contacts the circumferential flask. CONSTITUTION:A circumferential flask 3 is placed on a lower metal mold 1 of which the top surface formes one mold surface of a mold and the bottom surface is flat, and the resin sand 4 is charged into the flask 3 and is built up higher than the said flask 3. Next, an upper metal mold 2 of which the bottom surface forms the other mold surface of the mold and the top surface is flat and which has a certain weight is placed thereon. The mold 2 is moved downward with a lowering means 5 such as the oil hydraulic cylinder until the circumference 2a of the bottom surface of the mold 2 contacts the flask 3, after which the mold is removed, whereby the double faced mold is produced. It is equally well to from the flask 3 in one body with the mold 1, and to apply the oscillations to at least one of the mold 1, the flask 3 and the mold 2 on the stage of moving the mold 2 downward.
