Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a directly recorded picture of sufficiently practical use with a simple mechanism, by irradiating an optical signal from the reverse face of a recording paper to a recording region of the recording paper which has the surface charged uniformly. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper 5 such as a zinc oxide paper has the surface charged uniformly by a corotron 8 and is supplied to a gap (d) between a nonmagnetic sleeve 4 and a guide member 6. Meanwhile, the nonmagnetic sleeve 4 and a permanent magnet 3 are rotated relatively to carry a conductive magnetic toner 2, and the surface of the recording paper 5 is brought into contact with the magnetic toner 2 or brought near the magnetic toner 2. Under this state, an optical signal 7 corresponding to an original picture is irradiated from the reverse face of the guide member 6. When this optical signal 7 reaches the surface of the recording paper 5, the electric charge in the irradiated part on the surface of the recording paper 5 is discharged, and the magnetic toner 2 is stuck to a part other than the part where the optical signal 7 is irradiated to obtain an inverted picture. By this method, a vivid directly recorded picture is formed on the recording paper 5 which is moved in a high speed.
