Abstract

PURPOSE: To inexpensively manufacture a magnetic alloy with high toughness and workability by forming an alloy of a supersatd. solid soln. of a magnetic element and a nonmagnetic element which are slightly soluble in each other and by precipitating a ferromagnetic phase or a nonmagnetic phase by heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy consisting of one or ≥2 kinds of magnetic elements selected from Fe, Co and Ni and one or ≥2 kinds of nonmagnetic elements selected from Ag, Au and Cu, basically Cu, Fe and Co is simultaneously subjected to forming by rapid cooling from a molten state and homogenizing whereby it is formed into a sheet or a thin wire, and the grains are made fine to provide high toughness and to enable the formation of a supersatd. solid soln. By further carrying out heat treatment in a magnetic field or a nonmagnetic field or cold working in combination with aging, a magnetic alloy contg. uniform and fine magnetic particles is obtd. The rate of the cooling from the molten state is regulated to ≥100°C/sec.
