Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the strength of pellets constant by measuring the temp. of the powder to be carried into a granulator and the electric power consumption of a screw feeder and rolls and controlling the number of revolutions of the feeder in accordance with the measured values.
CONSTITUTION: Dry powder of ion exchange resins is conveyed from a powder hopper 1 to a powder mixer 5 and a thermoplastic binder, for example, polyester resin, from a binder hopper 2, respectively by means of screw feeders 3, 4. When these are conveyed to a prescribed amt. therein, the mixer 5 revolves to mix these, thence the mixture is fed to rolls 8 by a screw feeder 9, by which pellets are molded under pressure. In this case, the temp. of the powder in the hopper 15 of the granulator as well as the electric power consumption of the feeder 9 and the rolls 8 are measured simultaneously, and the number of revolutions of the feeder 9 is so controlled that the powder attains a constant temp.
