Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate a change-over of raw material and color of a resin and enhance dispersing and mixing properties of the resin by a method wherein twin screws are used and the raw material feeding capacity on the downstream side of a raw material receiving region is set to be slightly larger than that of the raw material receiving region. CONSTITUTION:In a preheating feeder 1 provided with twin screws 6 rotated in opposite directions, the raw material feeding capacity on the downstream side of the receiving region for a resin raw material is set to be slightly larger than that of the receiving region near a hopper 4. Since the raw material feeding capacity on the downstream side of the receiving region, that is, in the vicinity of a raw material supply port 3 for an extruder 2 is set to be larger than the capacity in the vicinity of the hopper 4, even when the resin is expanded by heating, the resin can be dispersed and mixed efficiently without being forcibly packed into grooves of the screws 6. In addition, since the twin screws 6 are used, a high cleaning effect can be obtained and the change-over of the raw material and color of the resin is facilitated.
