Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the heating furnace of a strip material by incorporating heat exchangers sandwiched between air-permeable solid walls for high temp. and low temp. between heating chambers and the flues provided in heating spaces. CONSTITUTION:Air-permeable solid walls 5 are provided respectively between both surfaces of a strip 2 to be heat treated and furnace walls 1 provided to face both surfaces of the strip, and heating chambers 13 are formed between the opposite surfaces thereof. Blowing devices 7 for heating gases are provided in the chambers. Further, air-permeable solid walls 6 are provided on the outer side of said walls 5, and heat exchangers 3 are provided between these. The spaces between the walls 6 and the walls 1, the walls 5, 6 are used as gas discharge passages. The fuel supplied from the devices 7 is burned in the chambers 13, and the produced combustion gases of high temp. are filled in the chambers 13, after which they pass through the walls 5 in the uniform flow and flow to the heat exchangers 3. Hence, the surfaces of the walls 5 are heated, and the strip 2 is heated by the radiation heat of the walls and the combustion gases.
