Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce NOX in the boiler exhaust gas by a method wherein the cooling device for the preheated air to be supplied to a combustion chamber is provided to lower the preheated air temperature. CONSTITUTION:There is provided the preheating device of such type as plate, tubular, regenerative or the like, in which the combustion air a1 is preheated utilizing the waste heat of the flue gas g1. By providing a cooler 2 comprising heat exchaneger in the passage through which the preheated air a2 is supplied to the combustion chamber 3, the preheated air temperature a2 is lowered through the heat exchange between said preheated air a2 and feed water W1. By the temp. drop of this preheated air NOX in the boiler exhaust gas is reduced and the feed water W1 is preheated.
