Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of equipment such as a blower for exhuast gas and to reduce heat loss due to exhaust gas by a method wherein a plenum chamber of a continuous annealing furnace for steel plate is provided with a heat exchanger to which a water supply tube and a hot water introducing tube are connected, and the introducing tube is connected to a hot water tank. CONSTITUTION:A plenum chamber 13 of a continuous annealing furnace is provided with a fintube type hot-water heater 16 (heat exchanger) to cool exhaust gas to a temperature below heat-resistant temperature of a blower 14 for the exhaust gas, said exhaust gas being introduced into the plenum chamber 13 at a temperature of from 200-500 deg.C. The hot-water heater 16 is provided within the plenum chamber and between the joint part of an exhaust gas-gethering tube 12 and the fixed part of an exhaust duct. Heat transfer tube is provided as fintube and water flows through the tube. Water flows in the opposite direction to the exhaust gas flowing outside the tube. The hot-water heater 16 is connected to a water supply tube 17 to supply water to the heater 16 which is provided with a hot-water introducing tube 18. The tube 18 is connected to a hot-water tank 19 to supply hot water. The temperature control of recovered hot water is carried out by a water supply valve 19.
