Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply molten slag continuously at a stable constant rate into a treatment installation by supplying the molten slag into a dry pit provided tentatively with ingates, and supplying the same to a molten slag treating device through the nozzle provided in the lower part of the dry pit. CONSTITUTION:A large ingate 6 and a small ingate 8 are formed in a dry pit 2, and a stopper 4a is lowered to close the inlet of a nozzle 3. Molten slag 5 is accepted in the pit 2 through a trough 1. Upon arrival of the slag level in the pit 2 at the top end of the opening of the nozzle 3, a stopper 4a is moved upward to open the inlet of the nozzle 3, thereby supplying the slag 5 into a slag treating device 7. While the melt level of the slag well 10 of the device 7 is monitored, the rotary valve provided in the nozzle 3 is controlled to maintain the melt level of the slag well 10 constant. Thereby, the slag 5 is supplied stably and continuously to the device 7.
