Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of high melting point metal to be used, to simplify the construction and to improve sealing reliability by a method wherein an auxiliary sealing body made of a material with a melting point lower than that of a filament support is connected to the support at one end of the body, and a flange is buried in an insulated body and sealed. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary sealing body 22 made of Fe material penetrating into an insulated body 6 is fastened at the ends of filament supports 20, 21 and a flange portion 22a is attached to the auxiliary sealing body 22. On the surface of the flange portion 22a facing an insulated body 6 is a cup-like portion 22b constructed of a thin metal about 0.4mm. thick, for instance, through monobloc casting. In addition, the end of the cup-like portion 22b is allowed to contact the metallized alumina ceramic insulator 6. With this construction, the amount of expensive metal with a high melting point such as Mo to be used is reduced and the reliability of vacuum sealing can be improved.
