Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to couple fins and tubes together securely by forming louver groups in a corrugated fin used in a stacked type heat exchanger for an automobile, in the manner that they are directed in the opposite directions on the right and left sides of the center of the fin as viewed from a horizontal direction and that louvers located on the same side are directed in the same direction. CONSTITUTION:Four louver groups 8a-8d are provided by forming many louvers 7 in an inclined upper surface 15 of a land 6 of a corrugated fin 5. Here, louver groups 8a, 8b located on the left side and those 8c, 8d located on the right side are directed oppositely, but louver groups 8a and 8b and those 8c and 8d are directed in the same direction respectively. By employing such an arrangement, it is enabled to make the width of the trough 6 of the corrugated fin 5 uniform along the entire length of the same and to hold a tube element between corrugated fins 5 in a secure manner. Thus, it is enabled to prevented local concentration of stress produced by high-pressure cooling medium and troubles like rupture of the heat exchanger.
