Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce impact to be exerted on a reciprocating member in switching a driving force, by controlling driving force switching to the other direction after stop of the drive of the reciprocating member for exposing an original in response to an equal-interval pulse corresponding to rotation of an endless photosensitive belt. CONSTITUTION:An original placing plate is moved backward at a speed 4 times as high as the forward motion for exposure by the original placing plate reversal command CBREV 326 fed from a terminal 325 and stopped at the home position by a brake force applied to the driving mechanism due to detection of the plate position made by a magnet and a Hall element. Then, a plate forward- motion command signal is produced from an FF324 in accordance with the both of a plate home position signal CBHP converted into a high level and sent through a gate 315, and a copying execution signal CEXC produced one clock after the plate stop. During this one clock the plate continues to stop, and just after then, the driving force is switched over, thus permitting impact exerted on the plate at this switching to be alleviated.
