Abstract

PURPOSE:To reudce time required for start of copying, by rendering the first rotation time optionally selectable, omitting the first rotation action upon receiving a copy start signal during the second rotation, and immediately starting exposure action. CONSTITUTION:In an electrophotographic copying method having the first rotation action (a prewetting step and a potential control step) of a copying process and its second rotation action (a charge uniformizing step and a residual toner removing step), (i) a preset key is turned on, and the apparatus is allowed to start the first rotation action, and the device for finishing the rotation time at a prescribed time by a limiter is kept on standby, on the other hand (ii) the rotation operation to be executed after completion of the copying process is made stoppable by pushing of a stop key, the limiter, or the like, and an exposure step is enabled to be immediately started upon receiving a copying signal during the second rotation action, thus permitting time loss at the start of copying to be reduced by omitting the first rotation action.
