Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the monitoring of the operation of the transmitter and rceiver of an in-use system by sending data, to which error transmission control characters are added, from the transmitter and receiver of a stand-by system to the transmitter and receiver of the in-use system and by discriminating returned answer data. CONSTITUTION:The error code generation part 9 of the transmitter and receiver 8 of a stand-by system generates error transmission control characters, and a telegraphic message containing data and the added characters is generated by a control part 10 and sent to the transmitter and receiver 1 of an in-use system through a transmission part 13 and circuit parts 15 and 7. This telegraphic message is inputted via a reception part 6 to a control part 3 and then discriminated by a discrimination part 2 to confirm that the received transmission control characters are erroneous, so that the control part 3 generates a negative acknowledge signal (NACK). This signal NACK enters the transmitter and receiver 8 of the stand-by system through a transmission part 5 and circuit parts 7 and 15 and also enters a control part 11 to be discriminated by a discrimination part 10. The transmitter and receiver 1 of the in-use system is normal when the signal NACK is returned, or abnormal when a signal other than the signal NACK is sent back.
