Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the use efficiency of a line by transmitting data divided to blocks and discriminating error on the reception side and returning a retransmission request (NACK) signal with the block number only in the case of the presence of error.
CONSTITUTION: An A equipment 10 is provided with a line control part 1, a data number management part 2, an ARQ control part 3, and a data processing part 4. The line control part 1 is the junction (interface) part to various lines 30, and the data number management part 2 manages the serial number of transmitted/received data, and the ARQ control part 3 not only makes and analyzes data frames (blocks) but also discriminates error. An ARQ code and a block number are added to each block to transmit data from one equipment 10 to the other equipment 10, and the other equipment 10 discriminates error and returns the NACK signal and the block number only in the case of the presence of error but does not return a confirmation signal in the case of the absence of error. Thus, the confirmation signal transmission time is used for data transmission to improve the use efficiency of the line.
