Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the loss of a solvent by a method wherein after recovering solvent components, the outside air is introduced into a distillation chamber to recover the gaseous solvent remaining in the chamber.
CONSTITUTION: The solvent and diatomaceous earth in a solvent filter 17 are dropped into the still 18, and a predetemined distillation step is caried out to condense and recover the gaseous solvent at a condenser 19 as much as possible. Then, a damper 16 is opened, a water-cooled condenser 13 and a blower 12 are operated, a heater 14 is stopped and a gate valve 25 is opened, whereby the gaseous solvent in the still 18 is caused to flow through a dust filter 22, the blowere 12, the water- cooled condenser 13 and the first duct 32 into a regenerative cooler 35 in which it is condensed and recovered. Furthermore, a negative pressure is generated in the evaporator 18 as a result of the recovery of the solvent by condensation, and air is introduced into the evaporator 18 through a check valve 20 so that the gaseous solvent diffused in the evaporator 18 and the solvent contained in the residue 27 of evaporation are sequentially carried to the cooler 35, where they are recovered.
