Abstract
PURPOSE: To stop automatically and correctly the charge of a gob into a specified metallic mold of a turntable type glass molding machine and the pressing work by attaching an on-off switch to each metallic mold of the machine and setting switch detectors in front of the gob charging and pressing stations.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of metallic molds 3 for manufacturing glass vassels are arranged at the peripheral part of a rotary table 1, and the table 1 are rotated at a constant speed. A gob is charged into each of the molds 3 at the gob charging position G and pressed at the pressing position P to press-mold a glass product. Detectors 8, 9 for the position of a switch 5 attached to each of the molds 3 are set in front of the positions G, P beforehand. When the scoop 10 of the molding machine is worked to work the plunger 12 for pressing, a mold into which a gob is not charged is detected from the position of the switch 5, and the charge of a gob into the specified mold 3 and the pressing work with the plunger 12 are stopped automatically and correctly with changeover valves 14, 15, 16, 17.
