Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the removal of bubbles and clogging in an ink discharging head by adding to a normal first pressure generating mechanism for discharging ink a second pressure generating mechanism therein to provide a larger displacement. CONSTITUTION:In a pressure pulse type ink jet recorder in which a pressure generating mechanism comprising a pressure chamber 16, a discharging piezo- electric element 17, a piezo-electric driving circuit 12 and the like is provided in an ink passage having an ink discharging nozzle 8 at one end and an ink guiding inlet 15, a second pressure generating mechanism capable of generating a larger displacement than that generated in the ink by said mechanism is provided in the ink passage and it constitutes a pressure chamber 19, a piezo-electric element 20, a piezo-electric element driving circuit 21 and the like. The second pressure generating mechanism is driven to remove bubbles in the ink passage and the pressure chamber and clogging in the nozzle 18.
