Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance durability of a glass carrier, by adding a magnetic material to glass particles. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of glass particles and 30-70wt% magnetic material is used. The glass carrier containing the magnetic material is prepared, for example, by mixing a raw glass material having a desired composition, adding a given amount of magnetic material to this mixture, melting, quenching, and pulverizing it. As the magnetic material, an iron powder subjected to oxidation treatment is preferable, and a suitable average particle diameter is 0.1-50mum.
