Abstract
PURPOSE: A combination of dopes for conjugate spinning which are made by dissolving simultaneously a cellulose derivative and acrylonitrile (AN) polymer in a solvent is spun into conjugate fiber, drawn and heat treated under specific conditions to produce the titled conjuate fiber with good mechanical properties, especially high shape stability under humid heat.
CONSTITUTION: A cellulose derivative and an AN polymer are dissolved in such a solvent as they are dissolved substantially at the same time to prepare a combination of dopes for conjugate spinning of such a dope concentration as the dopes show flow birefringence and optical anisotropy. The resultant dopes are spun, drawn and the resultant fiber is heat treated at a temperature lower than 100°C under tension of 0.01W0.1g/d so that these conditions satisfy the equation (R is the time of heat treatment in second; D is the total denier of the yarn treated with heat; t is tension in g/d where 0.01≤t≤0.1; T is treatment temperature in °K.
