PURPOSE:To obtain high responsiveness to a load fluctuation for a fluidized bed boiler, by supplying the coal of which grain size is large for the base loading, and the fuel of which combustibility is high, and of which supplying amount can be varied in accordance with load fluctuation, to the fluidized bed of a boiler. CONSTITUTION:A heat transferring tube 4 is disposed in a fluidized bed 3, formed on a perforated plate 2 of the body 1 of a fluidized boiler, and two kinds of fuel are supplied to the fluidized bed 3. That is, a coarse-grained coal F1 which undertakes a base load to a fluidized bed boiler, and powder coal or a fuel of high combustibility such as heavy oil F2, which can be supplied, promptly, in accordance with fluctuation of load to a fluidized bed boiler, are supplied to the boiler. The supplying rate of coarse-grained coal F1 is kept approximately constant, all the time, not related to the time. As for the fuel F2, on the other hand, the supplying rate is changed, in order to keep the calorific value corresponding to the fload fluctuation curve. With such an arrangement, the load to a boiler can precisely be changed in a short time, accordingly, the responsiveness to the fluctuation of load can be enhanced.
