Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a remedy for bacteria infectious diseases, having excellent absorbability through the digestive tracts and exhibiting high and long-acting antibacterial activity, by using a specific cephalosporin derivative singly or in combination with an organic acid.
CONSTITUTION: The objective remedy contains the compound of formulaI(R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is H or lower alkyl; R3 is methyl, ethyl, or 3W4C branched alkyl) or its salt as an active component. If necessary, 1W20mol of an organic acid is added to 1mol of the compound of formulaIor its salt. The compound of formulaIor its salt has excellent absorbability through the digestive tracts, and gives a non-ester compound having excellent antibacterial activity in high concentration in blood. Addition of an organic acid further improves the absorbability. The compound of formulaIcan be prepared, e.g. by reacting the compound of formula II with the compound of formula III.
