NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formulaI(R1 is lower alkyl; R2 is lower alkyl; R3 is methyl or ethyl) and a salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 1'-Acetoxyethyl-7-[2-( 2-aminothiazol-4-yl )-2-methoxyiminoacetamido]-3-cepthem-4-carboxylate.
USE: A remedy for microbism, suitable for the oral administration, and effective as a remedy for suppurative diseases and infectious diseases of the respiratory organs with low toxicity.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with a compound for formula III, preferably the reactive derivative of either one or both, to give the compound of formulaIand a salt thereof. 1W20mol, preferably 3W10mol, organic acid,e.g. maleic acid or fumaric acid, added to 1mol resultant compound of formulaIand a salt thereof improves the solubility in the digestive tracts. The compound of formulaIis orally administered in a dose of about 1W20mg/kg body weight at a time about 3W4 times a day.
