Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a proper electron beams transit hole by preventing any shift beftween two shadow masks and uneven elongation of said shadow masks at the time of press molding when the shadow masks for a mask converging type color television set are molded. CONSTITUTION:After two sheets of shadow mask electrodes 1 and 2 are superimposed using a position adjusting jig 9 equipped with a guide pin 10 the circumference, surrounding the effective surfaces 11 of the masks are subjected to seam welding 12 or spot welding 13. After the two masks are fixed to each other, they are subjected to press molding using male and female metal molds so as to have desired curvature. In the instance, an electron beam transit hole is previously buried with resin 15, so as to prevent shift of the mask holes due to microscopic elongation. After the curvature was formed as intended, the filled resin is removed, and a part including the welded part other than the effective surface is cut mechanically or using a laser beam to form a shadow mask.
