Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a device which is capable of resetting not only a CPU but also an I/O element when runaway of the CPU, etc. has occurred, by providing a reset signal generator for executing an equal operation to power-on reset. CONSTITUTION:As for a reset signal generator provided on a CPU and an I/O element, for instance, if runaway occurs in the fetch cycle, an output showing the fetch cycle is generated by the first code discriminator 10, and an output showing the detection of a non-defined instruction is generated by the second code discriminator 12. Subsequently, an output signal A is outputted by the third code discriminator 14, this signal is triggered, a pulse B whose width is hundreds of 100mus-1ms is outputted as a reset signal by a delaying circuit 16, and it is sent out to the CPU and the I/O element through a signal line 6. Subsequently, the CPU and the I/O element which have inputted the reset signal are initialized respectively by means of an equal operation to power-on reset in case when an electric power supply is turned on, and are restarted automatically.
